Our analysis
Why it matters
A second China→MENA vaccine-localization node, and it's a tech-transfer. This is the North African counterpart to Sinopharm/G42 in the UAE — but with an even more explicit structure: Egypt's health minister confirmed "two agreements were signed, the first for local manufacturing and the other for technology transfer." That's not import-and-distribute; it's capability transfer to a sovereign manufacturer.
By February 2022 Egypt had produced 30M+ doses (from an April-2021 standing start), was targeting 100M doses/year , and had begun exporting — delivering a first 500,000 doses to the Palestinian Authority and preparing shipments to African countries.
