Our analysis
Why this matters
On 10 June 2026, LVP Pharma — the investment vehicle of Egyptian healthcare private equity firm LimeVest — bought about 167 million Rameda shares (8.3%) at EGP 5.07 each, a total of EGP 847 million, from Equinox Pharma Holding. The purchase lifted LVP's stake to 31.5% and completed Equinox's exit from the company.
This was the third step in a rapid, deliberate build. In February LVP moved from 9.22% to 11.77% through on-market purchases (EGP 215 million at an average EGP 4.18); in March it bought 223 million shares, 220 million of them from Equinox, for about EGP 1.13 billion, becoming the largest shareholder at 23.15%; and on 1 June LimeVest founder Sharif El Akhdar became Rameda's non-executive chairman. In under four months LVP spent roughly EGP 2.2 billion to take a 31.5% position, the chair and three board seats — effective control of one of Egypt's fastest-growing listed drugmakers without a full takeover.
