Our analysis

Why this matters

The Mohammed VI Investment Fund (FM6I) has agreed to acquire the 10% stake that Recipharm holds in Maroc Biotechnologies (MARBIO). The framework agreement was signed on 21 September 2026 by the Kingdom of Morocco, FM6I, the BAB Consortium and Recipharm, and announced on 6 October. Completion is subject to agreed conditions and regulatory approvals, and the price was not disclosed.

The exit removes the only industrial partner from MARBIO's shareholder base. Recipharm supported the technical, industrial, operational and regulatory work of phase one, which delivered the fill-finish plant in Benslimane. With that phase built, ownership now sits entirely with the state, a sovereign fund and domestic banks.
