Why this matters
On 26 October 2026, EVA Pharma for Industry, the Saudi marketing arm of Egypt's EVA Pharma, signed a cooperation agreement with Saudi pharmacy chain United Pharmacies to supply TriGutirek XR through the chain's pharmacies. TriGutirek XR is an extended-release fixed-dose combination of empagliflozin, linagliptin and metformin for type 2 diabetes. It is registered with the Saudi FDA in two strengths, as a prescription-only pack of 30 tablets priced at SAR 230.30, and is manufactured by EVA Pharma in Egypt.
The deal adds a retail channel to a distribution agreement EVA signed with Cigalah Healthcare in September 2026, which remains in place. Saudi Arabia has a high prevalence of type 2 diabetes and is the largest pharmaceutical market in the GCC, so the triple combination is a volume opportunity, and pharmacy chains control a growing share of private-market dispensing.
