Our analysis
Avalon and Aurisco are building a Riyadh-based oligonucleotide platform — the capability to develop and manufacture an entire class of RNA-targeted drugs — with inclisiran as the first named project , not the whole deal
That distinction matters enormously: most Saudi localization deals transfer one finished product; this transfers a modality capability that can spawn a pipeline (siRNA/ASO drugs) from a single installed base. It’s a capability bet, not a SKU bet
Why Aurisco is the uniquely-qualified partner — a global first
Aurisco isn’t a generic generics supplier. In August 2026 its Yangzhou site became the world’s first generic oligonucleotide API manufacturer to pass a USFDA inspection — a pre-approval inspection specifically for inclisiran sodium , covering cGMP for oligonucleotides, GLP-1 peptides (semaglutide, tirzepatide) and small molecules. So Avalon is partnering with the company that just opened the regulatory door for generic TIDES globally (inclisiran, vutrisiran, nusinersen, eplontersen). That FDA-inspected oligonucleotide know-how is the scarce asset Avalon is importing — this is why the partner choice is the story, not incidental.
