Another Egyptian pharma eyes the EGX: El Arabi Group targets a $100M+ float

CEO Sherif El-Masry said the move follows completion of the group's listing-qualification steps, and revealed a parallel option: El Arabi is simultaneously evaluating investment offers from US and local funds worth $50–60 million — leaving open whether growth capital ultimately comes via the public float, a private placement, or both. The company has not disclosed the stake size, target valuation, or whether the offering will be new shares or an existing-shareholder sale.

The timing is not incidental. Egypt is running an active listings push under its $8 billion IMF reform program and State Ownership Policy , with officials flagging seven-plus public offerings — state and private — reaching the EGX within the year to summer 2027. El Arabi's plan slots squarely into that window.

Why it matters for the region: it's another signal that Egyptian pharma is turning to capital markets to fund scale — the financing side of the same ambition driving AUG's Gulf acquisition and the sector's manufacturing build-out. Where Gulf champions tap sovereign capital, Egyptian players are increasingly courting public equity and international funds to bankroll expansion. A successful El Arabi listing would deepen the EGX's healthcare bench (alongside names like Cleopatra Hospitals and the wider pharma cohort) and give regional investors another pure-play pharma vehicle.
